Dental Crowns with CEREC®

With the use of CEREC® 3D machine, the crown available at our Fremont, CA cosmetic and family dentistry practice can be done in a single visit.

DR. GLENN MCCORMICK: One of the new technologies we have here in the office is a CEREC machine, which allows us to make partial crowns in one visit here in the office. I really like it because it allows us to be conservative. We can do things that we couldn’t do where we have to make temporaries and send them to the lab. And the restorations look very lifelike. They look natural. People really enjoy it because they don’t have to worry about temporaries breaking, coming back several times before they have their permanent crown done. The ideal patient for CEREC is anyone who has large fillings that need to be replaced, who has need for some, not major restorations, but that have some broken teeth, so anything that needs to be repaired with a crown or more of a simple small filling. We use CEREC almost exclusively for those type of restorations. One major benefit of CEREC in our office is that people can come in, have the work done, and be finished. They don’[t have to come back a second time. I know people’s time is very important to them and eliminating that second visit is really important to people. I’m really excited about doing CEREC. I really like doing them and I think they’re a terrific restoration that will last for years and years.
